My best friend left for the military Sunday morning at 5 am. I talked to her on Saturday night, and I don't think that I've ever cried that hard. I didn't want her to go. I didn't want to say good bye to her. She was practically my sister. We fought like sisters and we made up like sisters. I know that my tears were for my own selfishness, because I didn't want her to leave. But there was nothing I could do to stop it. It was her decision, and I should be proud of her for wanting to fight for her country. But I'm not. I'm being selfish when I say that I didn't want her to leave. I'm sure she's going to be okay, but it doesn't stop me from worrying about her. It never will. I can't wait till her first letter. lol. I'm never going to stop communicating with her. And one day we'll both be in the same field. I just gotta wait on her to get there.
